Wooly Pigs is a business formed to raise and sell pork like Europe's best.
To meet our goals, we have imported a herd of Mangalitsa, one of Europe's best tasting breeds. We raise the pigs the way the Europeans do.

We've eaten this pork, so we know how good it is. It is incomparable with all readily available pork. We expect you to agree that the superior taste is reason enough to buy Mangalitsa.

Buying our pork also helps the cause of sustainable farming. We pay farmers well to raise these pigs in a traditional manner. That's good for meat quality, the farmer and the environment.
Buying our pork helps to conserve the Mangalitsa breed, a breed that is fundamentally different from almost all pigs raised in America - because America (like many countries) got rid of its lard-type heritage breeds a long time ago.
Who and where we are

Wooly Pigs is owned by the husband and wife team of Heath and Zuzana Putnam. Before moving to the USA, they lived in Europe for a combined 30 years. Heath worked in a bank, where he wrote software to price and manage financial derivatives.
Wooly Pigs is based in the Inland Northwest, in Spokane, Washington.
